When it comes to communication, exchange work via email, Gmail is always on top with very few competitors. One of the main reasons for the dominance of Gmail is its ease of use and diverse feature set. Not to mention, Gmail’s spam filter is also great.

However, when writing or sending new emails, the default text style makes the content quite difficult to read. This is true if your eyesight is not very good. If the default text size in Gmail annoys you, changing it is easy. Follow the steps below to change the font size and default font type in the Gmail editor window.

Change font size and style in Gmail

Normally, you can still edit the color, font size and fonts in the text editor window when writing an email to someone.

However, its downside is that it only applies to email you’re writing, if you want to apply to all future emails, follow the steps below.

Step 1. First, visit the Gmail homepage at gmail.com or mail.google.com.

Step 2. Log in to Gmail with your username and password.

Step 3. At the Gmail mailbox interface, click the Settings icon with gear in the top right corner and select “Settings“.

Step 4. On the Settings page, go to the “General” tab. Here, find the “Default text style” section, then select the default font and font size from the available options.

Make changes in this box to match the style you want for all your future emails.

Click Save Change at the bottom of the page to save all changes.
